    The integration of Open Educational Resources (OER) with Learning Management Systems (LMS) such as Moodle and Canvas is redefining course design by enabling educators to create accessible, flexible, and dynamic learning experiences. This session explores how Pressbooks, an open-source publishing platform, improves LMS capabilities by simplifying the integration of Open Educational Resources (OER) into well-structured course designs. Pressbooks offers powerful export options for designing courses that combine chapters and materials from diverse OER sources. Educators can remix, adapt, and integrate content into unified course modules while retaining the interactivity and accessibility essential for today’s learners. This presentation demonstrates how Pressbooks empowers educators to build flexible courses tailored to their curriculum by embedding resources directly within LMS platforms. Educators can improve teaching by using Pressbooks’ easy integration. This integration helps deliver content better and engages learners more. Examples of successful course designs will show how combining material from different Open Educational Resources (OER) improves teaching and learning. Participants will learn to utilize Pressbooks and the LMS to create interactive, accessible, modular courses. This method provides equitable access to quality education and enables educators to tailor learning for diverse audiences.

    Immersive mindfulness: adolescents’ meditation experiences in Maloka VR

    Virtual Reality (VR) meditation offers promising solutions to address declining attention spans and enhance cognitive functioning in adolescents. This study evaluates the effectiveness of immersive VR interventions in improving adolescents’ ability to focus their attention. Using the Maloka VR application, participants demonstrated increased focus, engagement, and relaxation after brief meditation sessions. The immersive meditation experience facilitated mindfulness and body awareness, which are essential components for enhancing focus, particularly for individuals with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Importantly, findings from this study will inform the development of scalable, school-based VR meditation programs designed to support student well-being, attention training, and self-regulation. By integrating VR meditation into existing wellness initiatives—such as Zen rooms and mental health programming—schools can offer innovative tools to help students manage stress, improve focus, and prepare for cognitively demanding tasks. Future research should explore long-term effects, optimal implementation strategies, and inclusive design principles to ensure equitable access to VR meditation interventions across diverse educational settings.

    This chapter explores the use of SMARTIE EDIA Redesign Assistant, an innovative AI application, to re-design inclusive learning activities by incorporating Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, focusing on the unique needs of undergraduate and graduate students from diverse backgrounds, including those with dyslexia and visual impairment and auditory impairment in asynchronous, synchronous and in-person course delivery mode. This chapter discusses the implementation of inclusive teaching in higher education academic settings and how to revamp learning activities by leveraging AI-enhanced technology.

    This book lists some excellent free H5P object tools, explains the uses of them, and shares creative uses or examples the author has personally created or compiled. The examples demonstrate how the tools can be used to effectively organize and present content, to encourage learners to engage or interact with the content or materials, and to quickly create quiz questions. Links to tutorials are also provided. Readers can download and reuse the objects as they are or revise to suit their needs. This book could be useful to teachers, instructors, course designers, as well as trainers.
